Giro PelotonIn Grand Tours such as the Tour de France and the Giro d’Italia, nearly 200 riders ride in a group for three weeks. The group is called a “peloton” and can reach speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour when they are so tightly packed that their shoulders touch. Professional riders must not only have the strength to ride in such a group, but also the skills to control their bikes.

ツール・ド・フランスやジロ・デ・イタリアといったグランツールは、200人近い選手が集団で3週間走り続けます。集団は“Peloton”（プロトン ）と呼ばれ、肩が触れるほど密集した状態で時速60kmになることも。プロたちはその中を走る体力だけではなく、自転車をコントロールするスキルも持っていなければならないのです。
